About UsTraining Rescue Dogs, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of German Shepherd Dogs. Training Rescue Dogs, Inc. provides training and rehabilitation to rescue dogs. We locate and hire competent, experienced trainers who evaluate and rehabilitate the dogs so they can successfully transition into homes. These homes allow them to thrive; providing their families with years of companionship and joy. Many German Shepherds never find a home because they display undesirable, but easily corrected, behavioral challenges. Tragically, these dogs are then passed over by other organizations and then euthanized. This is a terrible loss. A competent and experienced trainer is able to evaluate the individual dogs and those determined able to be rehabilitated will be accepted into the rescue. After dedicated training these once discarded dogs are transformed from poorly behaving dogs into model canine citizens. Training and rehabilitation for these dogs is an unmet need among most animal rescues and shelters. At Training Rescue Dogs, we don't believe in giving up on dogs; we believe in giving them the future. We are a "Different Breed of Rescue." We are always in need of foster homes for dogs in our rescue. Unlike most rescues, we have a unique foster program. Our program is designed for those select individuals who truly want to work with dogs who need a second chance and are interested in improving their handling skills and knowledge of canine behavior. Our program pairs the foster with an experienced trainer/behaviorist who will develop an individualized training plan for a specific dog in order to prepare the dog for a more successful adoption. The benefits of our program for the foster are: more appropriate foster placement, exposure to a wide variety of canine behaviors with guidance as to the best practices for addressing and shaping those behaviors, personal enrichment and improvement of canine handling skills. All training expenses are funded by Training Rescue Dogs, Inc. Apply today to be a foster. Foster Application |
