Daisey is a 3 month old female German Shepherd. She was an unwanted Christmas puppy who was abandoned at the shelter gate; tied to a fence in fact.

She is a sweet, confident puppy with lots of energy. We believe she was taken away from her mother and litter-mates too early, because of this she is very mouthy and needs work on her bite inhibition. Due to her excessive mouthiness and razor sharp puppy teeth we will not adopt her to a home a young children. She will need a patient and understanding handler to work through this stage, it’s imperative that she be taught the appropriate way and not using overly adverse and/or physical corrections. 

She is very good with people, but awkward with dogs because she did not spend enough time with her litter-mates to learn how to read dog body language. She must be introduced slowly on multiple occasions before allowing off leash interaction with any dogs. If introduced appropriately she is good with dogs that can tolerate young puppies. She will not be a dog park dog or doggie daycare dog. She does not exhibit any sound sensitivities and is environmentally curious; Daisey loves to explore!

Daisey is not a good candidate for Search and Rescue, Service Dog work, or IPO/Schutzhund/Sport. However she likely would do well with Agility, Rally, Obedience, or similar activities as she matures.

She is a typical puppy who needs training, behavior shaping, and structure to become a stable, well-mannered adult dog. 

Continued training in Alexandria, with her current trainer, will be required with an adoption contract.
